The Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA) has named Joseph Puopolo, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Polocorp Inc., as a Director, Medium Local, for the 2026-2027 term
A Provincial Voice for Ontario’s Builders
OHBA is the voice of the residential construction industry across Ontario, representing more than 4,000 member companies and 30 local home builders’ associations. Its work brings builders, renovators and land developers together around the issues that shape where and how families live across the province, from housing supply and approvals to land development policy.
A Builder’s Perspective with Deep Local Roots
Joseph Puopolo leads Polocorp Inc. alongside his brother and co-CEO, Mike Puopolo, at a company founded in 1978. Polocorp is a family-built integrated land development company with more than 40 years of history in Waterloo Region, and its work has helped shape communities across the region for generations.
Puopolo brings to the OHBA Board a working knowledge of the issues that matter most to builders and the communities they serve. He serves as Co-Chair of Build Urban, and sits on the Kitchener Development Liaison Committee and the Waterloo Development Liaison Committee, giving him direct insight into development coordination across the region’s municipalities.
Leadership Grounded in Building Lasting Communities
With a planning degree from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, Joseph Puopolo has spent more than 20 years focused on growth strategies for land development and technology companies. He is responsible for many of Polocorp’s new developments and has worked to integrate sustainable design and placemaking into the company’s projects.
Polocorp’s appointment to the OHBA Board is a natural extension of the company’s own history in the region. For more than four decades, Polocorp has planned and built the places where people live, work and raise their families. That commitment to the long view is precisely what provincial housing leadership demands.
As Polocorp has long said:
“As a family built company, we understand how the urban form can impact a community. Polocorp is committed to building lasting communities for people and their families.”
That understanding now extends into the leadership of Ontario’s home builders’ association, where the decisions made today will shape neighbourhoods across the province for decades to come.
