Polocorp is partnered locally with the Waterloo Region Home Builders’ Association (WRHBA) and Build Urban Group to shape the future of the home development industry.

At Polocorp, we have been working within the Waterloo Region to protect and enhance its heritage for over 40 years. We are dedicated to actively staying involved in our community and have joined the Waterloo Region Home Builders Association (WRHBA) and the Build Urban group.

Members of the WRHBA

The WRHBA is the local recognized voice that advocates for matters affecting residential development and construction by working with industry professionals and all levels of government. By being members of the WRHBA, we have been directly involved in the growth and transformation of the region. In fact, our Co-Chief Executive Officer, Mike Puopolo, is currently serving as the second vice president of the leadership board.

Recently we had the opportunity to attend and sponsor the 30th Annual Industry Luncheon where Ron Tite from Church+State and Marlon Bray from Altus Group came to speak on the housing crisis, challenges, impediments and attempts to improve the situation to date and where the next couple years will take the industry.

Our team also attended the WHRBA Spring Golf Classic at Rebel Creek Golf Club, where Polocorp sponsored the 18th hole “Marshmallow Shot” in May. Events, such as these, allow us to connect with others in our industry, building relationships and opening the doors to discussions on how we can continue to make Waterloo Region a great place to live and grow.

Members of Build Urban

Being members of the Build Urban collective means that we stand alongside other urban developers sharing the commitment to progressively push city building that will positively shape the future of Waterloo Region. We work closely with municipal governments and development stakeholders in the hope of overcoming some of the barriers set in place when it comes to constructing new homes. Some issues that we have addressed to date include inclusionary zoning, affordability and urban intensification.
